The Varilux Physio is a breakthrough in wavefront technology.  Wavefront design allows for more precise and accurate visual acuity within all areas of the lens.  This allows for wider distance, intermediate, and reading areas.  The Physio is a front side digitally surfaced lens. 


 

What is 1.60 Hi Index?

A material that is made of a composite of multiple resins.  Although heavier by weight over plastic and polycarbonate because of it's density, the lens can be made thinner, therefore making the overall lens "lighter" as well as much thinner.  Because of the higher density of material, there is a higher chromatic abberation effect and a slight loss of visual clarity.  An anti reflective treatment can counter this effect and is strongly recommended for this material.
