What is Polycarbonate?
A material that is made of polymers and has become the standard material because it can be made thinner yet offer the highest impact resistance. Because it can be made to thinner thicknesses, it offers a very lightweight lens. Polycarbonate lenses are the standard for safety eyewear and sports wear. It has an index of refraction of 1.586. The material however does have a higher chromatic aberration value. A good alternative is Trivex material.
