Standard progressive lenses offer bifocal lenses without the visible line of traditional bifocals. The lens offers a distance area in the top of the lens for far away viewing, an intermediate area in the middle of the lens for viewing at arms length, and a reading area at the bottom of the lens for close up viewing. Although considered a "bifocal" and not a "trifocal" with it's three areas, the intermediate area is due to the lenses "progression" from distance to near.
