Varilux lenses are the most well known of all progressive lenses. Although they only represent a small portion of all the progressive lenses on the market, the name is almost synonamous with "progressive" lenses. The Varilux Comfort is a good standard fit lens for most frames. The Varilux Panamic was designed to fit smaller frames without eliminating the reading zone but is not best for the first time progressive wearer. The Varilux Ellipse is another lens designed for very shallow frames and helps keep all the viewing areas within the lens shape. The Varilux Liberty is, by design and purpose, the best lens for someone who would like to go from a lined bifocal into a no line style.
